A question people ask others is if they would start their life over again. I have always said, “No.” A breed of dog has changed my mind.
The Belgian Malinois. My do-over. I wish I could have raised one when I was young and learned to train them for the military and police.
The Malinois is an incredibly smart breed, agile, light, and powerful. They guard, swim, jump, parachute, run up trees/houses/walls, climb ladders, and more. It can run up the wall of a two-story house to get onto the roof. They are driven and fearless.
There’s a video of a Malinois on YouTube. The dog is flying probably 20-30 feet through the air to catch a toy on a stick. When it gets to the toy, its jaws seem to unhinge — like Geena Davis in Beetlejuice.
Imagine you’re the one staring into the mouth of that ‘unhinged’ dog coming at you. Here’s the video showing their jumping abilities. If you watch it to the end, you will see it’s mouth coming unhinged as it opens. YIKES!
